President and CEO

Stephen Speakes

Steve Speakes has served as CEO since 2013. During his tenure the company grew its product array from the military to the commercial market while maintaining a close partnership with US DOD and expanding the search for international customers. Previously Steve served 35 years in the US Army, ending his career as a Lieutenant General while serving as the Army G8 responsible for the Army’s equipping and its financial strategy. He is a graduate of the US Military Academy at West Point and holds an MA in Government from Georgetown University.

Director of Engineering and Product Development

Ed Ortiz

Ed Ortiz, has been with the company since 2012. During his tenure at the company he helped implement an end-to-end Product Development organization, ramp up production of the LCRTF DoD contract, commercialize the RT240 and brought production of the DCG 90-160 family of forklifts to the Cibolo location He previously spent 25 years with Manitex, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of the Manitowoc Crane Company, holding various leadership positions in Product Development, New Product Introduction, Testing, Quality Assurance, and Service. Ed is a graduate of the Instituto Tecnologico Regional of Cd. Madero, Mexico, College of Engineering, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Ed has over 36 years of product development experience in the mobile equipment industry.

Director of Finance

Patricia Estrada Krigbaum

Patricia Krigbaum joined the company in October 2015 as Sr. Financial Analyst. In April 2017 she was promoted to Finance Manager assuming all responsibilities as head of finance. She has 20 years of finance and accounting experience with areas including General Ledger Accounting, Capital Assets Management, and Financial Planning and Analysis. Patricia is a native Texan and a graduate of the University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

 

Director of Employee Services

Joel Deal

Joel Deal has served as the company’s Director of Human Resources since 2008. During his time at the company, Joel has been involved with the implementation of HR best practices and policies necessary to support the company’s growth from 50 employees to over 180 employees. Prior to joining the company, Joel has worked with “Fortune 100” companies such as Washington Mutual, Standard Pacific Homes, and also served 8 years in the US Air Force, with his last assignment at the Air Force Personnel Center at Randolph AFB. Joel is a native Texan and a graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelors degree in Human Resources.

Director of Operations

Israel Cruz

Israel Cruz is a graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is a founder of Invictus Medical; a start-up that markets his device that prevents cranial deformities in premature infants. Israel has been with the company since February of 2011. During his tenure, he has worked as Product Development Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Director of Quality, and Director of Operations. He is currently back at UTSA pursuing an Executive MBA and will graduate May of 2020.

Director of Supply Chain Operations

Lyndie Wingenroth

Lyndie Wingenroth joined the RT Center in 2006. During her time at the company she has helped develop and sustain the Supply Chain for the ramp up of RT240 LCRTF, and DCG 90-16 production lines. She served as Program Manager for the LCRTF DOD contract and was responsible for meeting the contract requirements of the program. She is currently responsible for managing our very robust Aftermarket Sales team as well as continuing to develop and sustain the Supply Chain for aftermarket and RT290 requirements.

Director of Customer Solutions

William “Bif” Mott

William “BIF” Mott brings 26 years of Air Force experience to the RT Center. In over four years with the company he has worked on Program Management, Strategic Development, and Government Sales. He currently has both a national and international portfolio. His focus is on new equipment sales, but also covers engineering R&D, Service, Used Equipment, and RESET/RECAP Programs. While in the Service, he flew as an F-15C and F-22 instructor pilot and commanded an Air Force Wing.

 

Training & Service Manager

George Deck

George Deck joined the RT Center team in 2001. He has assumed many roles in support of the military with new equipment and sustainment training, product warranty and customer service. George has over 20 years of vocational education experience which includes training development and management. He has an Associate of Applied Sciences Degree in HVAC from St. Philips College where he taught courses as an adjunct faculty member. He has worked in the various mechanical trades for over 40 years.

Global Logistics / FSR Program Manager

Steve Mckinney

Steve Mckinney Has been with IRTC since 2000. During his tenure he has been an integral part of the implementation and Setup of many departments and programs. His first task was at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, with RT240 RTCH First Article Testing (FAT). On his return to Cibolo he has filled a number of positions. IT Manager, USMC Warranty Manager, Global Support Service Manager, logistics, Manager and FSR Manager. Steve is retired Army and attended Embry Riddle Aeronautical institute.

RT290 Frac Sand Logistics

Independent Rough Terrain Center designed the RT290 for a specific customer application –  to deliver containerized sand logistics to the fracing industry. The RT290 can lift 65,000lbs and provide load security through the use of ISO twist locks. The RT290 is proven onsite with the SandCan system and is currently in production and in the field.

Fielded in 2001, the RT240 RTCH is the world standard for military heavy logistics. With over 1,300 manufactured, the RT240 is in service with 6 armies worldwide. The RT240 RTCH is tranportable by land, air and sea with no disassembly and can operate in remote environments, in virtually any terrain, in extreme weather and in up to 5 feet of water. The RT240 is built to work in the harshest conditions while safely handling up to 53,000 pounds.

RT250 Rough Terrain Container Handler

The RT250 RTCH is designed for heavy lift in tough environments. Mainly an ISO container handler, the RT250 is capable of handling fork and sling loads up to 56,000lbs. The RT250 RTCH is transportable without height permits and is ready to work on site 15 minutes after arrival.
